Preparing for a zombie apocalypse

I imagine that many new parents have been through this: working towards securing a safe future. For Adam and I - we felt that we had house mostly sorted, careers going ok, and a retirement plan - we were worried about the zombie apocalypse, especially considering the poor preparedness of the UK government (unlike the US government). So we have been busy...

We have built a garret that offers a good lookout across the backyards. From here we can watch for the neighbours over the back to see who is infected, watch for invasions and when the coast is clear to do raiding parties. At the moment we have installed Sophie up there to do night watch duties (and babysitting during the day - ain't family great).

To aid our survival we have installed solar panels and planted fruit trees/plants* in the backyard. It may not provide a well balanced diet but it is low maintenance and we should be able to make jams, chutneys and cider to survive on or use to trade.

We have also been spreading the message through Adam's t-shirts.

Gwen is a bit too young to train yet, although we are thinking of getting her a zombie doll and encouraging violence. However, we have been training the cats. Seymour studies hard, but Nibbler is a little bit complacent.

We have quite a few shovels, but I feel it is now time to build and diversify our weapons stockpile. You can never be too prepared for a zombie uprising.
