so it was back to beijing, with all its traffic and smog and shopping. we got our tailored clothes back, and became well good at bargaining (it is easy when you don't want anything). we ate delicious chinese fusion, and western food. we got massages and manicures. and on my last day, we headed to the great wall. we were warn out, so we went to the nearest, most popular bit of wall, with everyone else. but after we had gotten the cable car up, we could see that there was a less popular route back, so we took that. of course we weren't confident that we would be able to get off the wall and get back to the carpark, so we had to ask anyone who spoke any english to reassure us that we weren't walking down a ridiculously steep bit only to have to walk up it again. but we got back, without walking up. and that was the end.
