I spent 5 hours on Saturday wandering around second-hand car dealers and found myself a car that fit all of my requirements. When I set out, I really thought I was unlikely to find anything because, as a few of you have probably laughed at me for before, I've never driven a manual. That limited me to finding an auto, and about 90-95% of the cars over here are manual. But I was pleasantly suprised to find this auto peugeot that is 10 years old, not done too many miles (63000) and in my price range. I've put my deposit down and now I just need to get my insurance sorted out before I can go and get it. They have compulsary 3rd party insurance over here, but it costs a fortune. I've had quotes ranging from £620-1000 a year. But I need a car, so it can't be avoided.
My only other intersting info from the weekend was that it was Juanel's birthday, so I ended up going out with the South African crowd again. We hit a pub till 11 and then went dancing at Po Na Na's again. By about 1am my legs gave up (I did walk around for most of the 5 hours I was car hunting), so I headed off at what is an early time back home but the nights here seem to end by 2am anyway.
Oh, I did get a multi-regional DVD player (thanks to Kat and Amazon.com), so I can now begin a new DVD collection over here. Got my first lot, The Family Guy #3, Beetlejuice, Ferris Bueller, Basketball and Dogma.
Thats about it for now. Curse Newcastle and Shay Given, and word to Wales winning the 6 nations (sorry Phil).

My (soon to be) new car
