Photos: BBQs, kittens and floors

we are still amazed with every passing day how light, and bright and warm it is. except on weekends, when there is the inevitable light drizzle. we had a 28 degree day a couple of weeks ago. my lab spent lunchtime in beer garden, and then adjourned for afternoon tea on the lawn. i was right in there elbowing the english aside for maximum sun position. It was quite amusing listening to those who have tans mocking those who were trying to get some sun on their whiter than white legs. Luckily my legs were covered.

Since then it has generally been over 20 during the day, which has been lovely. the greenhouse is finished, and planted with spinach, lettuce, tomatoes and eggplants. and home to all the herbs. Adam has a pumpkin vine to plant outside too, part of some work vege growers competition. my great garden plan for the flower beds has given way to a random planting of things that look pretty on the packet. but mostly the backyard comprises of plants that have escaped from next door. i now check over the fence to try to work out which plants are good, and by a process of elimination, which ones are weeds. and i have planted the hedge - it looks ridiculously small compared to the wall, but it is a 5 year plan. you can just see the hedge behind the magnolia.

Seymour healed very quickly after his little adventure. And they have been let outside again. And they have continued to disappear for longer and longer periods.

And we got a bbq. the english think we are mad because it is a gas bbq, and apparently bbqs are supposed to be smoky, charccoal things. but we showed them.

And i promised photos of the floor... No before or during because it turns out you are a bit busy to take photos. And everything got packed away before i had time to think about where the camera was.
