Buzzcocks Karaoke

Adam & I really have to get out more. Mum has been in New York this week, hitting Broadway every night it seems. Apart from Shakespeare, we haven't delved into the theatre scene here yet. And the pull isn't that strong. But the music scene is amazing, and we do seem to be just letting it slip by.

There are festivals every weekend, and usually at least two, with all sorts of old brit pop bands who rarely go to Oz. There are clubs that just play sad songs, very High Fidelity-esque. And I've just found a karaoke bar for Adam - Punk Rock Karaoke, although Adam does generally enjoy a bit more 80's pop in his punk covers. Who can resist the opportunity to do a death metal version of 'Can't get you out of my head' or 'Song 2'? Or the chance to see if the live backing band can play the super fast live versions of the Ramones' songs (and if you can sing as fast as they can play)?

In house news, the survey arrived. With eleven 'urgent' items. We've yet to decide whether we agree with their definition of urgent.
