Getting to Oxford

To/from London
Buses are the cheapest and most convenient way to get to Oxford by public transport outside of peak hour (and major traffic disruption). There are two companies. We recommend the Oxford Tube and they go from Victoria, Hyde Park Corner, Nottinghill and Shepherds Bush. The other company is the Oxford Express which has similar stops and costs. Cost: £13 single, £20 open return. Duration: 1 hour, up to 2 1/2 hours at peak hour. For full details including maps of stops in London and Oxford see the website. Trains leave from London Paddington. Cost: weekday return £46.50, but as low as £20 if booked in advance. Weekend off-peak fares are £20. Open returns are available. Duration: 70 minutes on an express train (stopping at Reading and one or two other stations only). For full details see the National Rail website. Oxford station is a 30 - 40 minute walk from us.

To/from Heathrow or Gatwick Airports

The Airline buses are the cheapest and most convenient way to go from Oxford to Heathrow and Gatwick Airports. Cost: Heathrow single £20, open return £25. Gatwick single £25, open return £35. Duration: Heathrow 90 minutes, Gatwick 2 - 2 1/2 hours depending on traffic.

To/from Stansted or Luton airports
National Express coaches go from Oxford to Stansted and Luton airports. Duration: Stansted from 3 hours 10 minutes. Luton from 1 hour 45 minutes. Cost: Stansed £24.50 return. Luton £16.50 return.
