Bye bye 2010.... Hello 2011

2010 was a big year for us. So big that I essentially gave up blogging for the last half. So here are the highlights you've missed...

I got pregnant.

Adam got an all expenses paid trip to Niagra Falls and upstate NY (he was in the US for work already) care of the college he lectures for over summer. They even made him assistant coach for their football (soccer) team for the match. And he got to spend a few days with Angela & Carl in NYC.

I got a trip to the US for work a few weeks after Adam and got to visit Angela & Carl and see Halloween Cotto style.

I got my first big grant - €500k to research how to improve sanitation in slums in east Africa - and a lectureship.

So that brings us up to date. Adam has been busy over christmas stripping wallpaper and painting the spare room/nursery, and planning the loft conversion to give us a third bedroom. We had a delicious Christmas feast over several days - pork, lamb and duck this year with all the trimmings, and we had snow the week before Christmas which lasted almost until new year so we had a White Christmas (it counts!). I thought everyone was being slack with Christmas cards this year, but this week we have had a bunch so I'm guessing the snow just delayed them. Just like ours.... The snow... Hmmmm.

I'm now 5 months and starting to show quite a bit. Only 4 months to go. Applications now being accepted for a full time nanny/maid/governess/wet nurse ;)
