On Tuesday it finally started snowing in Oxford, and it kept snowing until lunchtime on Wednesday leaving us with a lovely white wonderland with snow a foot deep. It is the best snow we have seen here, and overnight it was -17 degrees, which I think is a record since we've been here.
It's not quite snow days, because Adam can still walk to work and I can work from home, but it is walks in the snow at every opportunity and afternoon tea breaks spent making snow men. I'm going out in a bit (at latest check the temperature outside is still -9, but it is sunny) to walk to a meeting, and check out the snow slopes of south park on the way. We may get above freezing on the weekend, but we may also get more snow!
I love snow. I know that that is not unusual, and most people love it, but I just thought I'd mention it, in case snow didn't realise. I love how it forms little glaciers on surfaces, and the underside melts and the whole slab of snow slides down but still stays intact. I love how it sticks to places it has no right to stick to, like the fences. I love that our house has icicles (on the outside - I'm not interested in cracking the ice in the toilet before you use it). I love all the different ways it falls from the sky, from tiny flakes to flurries, and then when from the trees. I love the way it changes the way everything looks, and gives you a whole new world to discover (all these photos are from Oxford, they are all part of the city). I might go have a little snuggle in the snow right now...

These pics look so pretty, I am not even going to show Alex because he is so desperate to see snow and would want to come and visit immediately! Enjoy :) Ellen.
