that sinking feeling

Autumn has hit. The leaves have changed colour really rapidly, but the weather has actually been generally nicer than during the “summer”. And we have lost the long days, so it is quite dark when I get up and when I get home. It won’t be too bad if it stays warmish and dry for a few more months, but just the thought of those foggy and drizzly days ahead is enough to make me depressed. So I make chutneys (plum, green tomato) and pies (apple and blackberry) and other winter foods and look forward to when we can turn the central heating on.

Other than that, Adam went to a conference at Magdelen College in Oxford, which has it's own deer park. We went to see spurs thrash a cypriot team in the european cup, which was a great game to see on a lovely warm night, and we got to have japanese with Vanessa.

Happy birthday Yosh, happy birthday Emily.
