May day long weekend over here. Suitably spring weather - undecided, cold, hot, sunny, rainy, and always windy.

We bought a second house. The deal finally went through on Friday, too late for us to pick up the keys same day. So Adam was like a kid a christmas on saturday morning, waking up at 6am, raring to go, having to wait until the estate agent opened at 9am to get the keys, having to wait until i had showered (no breakfast allowed) so we could go and measure up, start cleaning etc.

And somehow we still went to Cotswolds wildlife park on saturday afternoon. I think it was only because the previous owner was still moving out. So we had a lovely relaxing afternoon, walking around the zoo in the sunshine, eating icecreams, and mocking the people having picnics in the car park on the ground when there were lots of lovely grassed picnic areas throughout the park. And we got to meander in and out of antique shops and flea markets in one of the charming cotswolds towns of wisteria-covered-stone-pubs and terraces. And then it was back to buy cleaning products galore for a saturday night of pizza and cleaning.

I managed to slip away on sunday to play in our last football game of the season, while adam continued to clean. We won, against the top team, putting us top of the league for a week at least, and celebrated. And then sunday morning, with aching limbs and hang over, it was back to cleaning. Adam kept me fuelled up with coke, chocolate, and lunch, and i scrubbed the kitchen, prepared the hallway for painting, prepared the second bathroom for painting, realised the wall paper in the second bathroom really wanted to come off, starting pulling off the wallpaper, told adam that i was taking off the wallpaper which he took very well, painted the hallway, and almost finished taking off the wallpaper.

Adam of course wasn't idle, but i'm the one who is writing this, so it is my story you get. And the horrible green, bumpy, mouldy wallpaper is almost gone which is soooo satisfying. but back to work tomorrow, but i am sure we will be spending several evenings and next weekend there, finishing off, and then interviewing renters...
