In case you have missed it, Spurs are sitting pretty at the top of the Premier League. Sure, it might be a case of getting over excited 2 games into the season, but you've got to take it while you can get it.
Apart from Spurs' glory, the weekend was a bit on the dull side for me. I got to work all day Saturday while Kat went into London and went to an art gallery and saw a show. Actually, maybe work was the way to go for me since I'm not really Captain Culture. I have a fairly important presentation to give in 2 weeks time, and I have no results, hence my focuse on work at the moment. I probably can get away with no results and use the presentation as a bit of an intro, but results are always better. I'm in charge this week at work, which means I get to boss myself around. The others are either at a malaria conference or on holidays, so no one really noticed that I got in at 2pm. Would be really great if I didn't have a load of work to do.
As Kat indicated, the survey has come back and we have decided that most of the "urgent" matters are fairly standard/minor things where the surveyor is covering his own butt. Three of them are written on every single survey (check the gas/water/electricity supplies) and a quick check with people at work suggested no one ever does. We have arranged for a couple of quotes to get the timbers in the roof treated because their is evidence of "insect attack", and we need to repair 2 minor things, but that really is it. So things are looking up. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Aussie dollar, which has continued it's fall from grace. Much like Eddie Murphy with a transexual, it's gone down badly. Currently at just under 0.42, it seems guest will have the opportunity to enjoy sleeping on yoga mats.
Have finally found some music worth listening to on other people's iTunes libraries. Most people in the department appear to have not worked out how to share their music, and those that have tend to be fans of bad british chart music. But a new person appeared today with the Clash, the Ramones, the Pixies, Queen, RHCP, Kaiser Cheifs etc etc.
Word to the UNSW soccer team who continue their run in the playoffs.
