Desperate housewife

The main reason I am a desperate housewife after only 4 days, is that we don't have a house at the moment. We have a room, and a share kitchen and bathroom. So after I drop Adam at work (it's been raining), I shower, breakfast, clean the room, do the washing, watch day time tv, and there is still 7 hours until I need to go and pick him up. Now if we had our own house it would be a different story. I could shop and cook and rearrange and, well I'd still probably do the same amount of cleaning. But of course we won't move in to our new house until after I start work. And I should be working at home but the jetlag made pudding out of my brain for a few days, so I potter (my computer is hard at work though).

It took me a few days, in my pudding-brain state, to get used to the currency and the conversions. Adam was very patient with my while I went through the "it's all too expensive, we are going to starve to death" phase, pointing out that the exchange rate is only 2.4 dollars to the pound, and that I had clearly forgotten during my thesis confinement how much eating out in Sydney costs. So now I am happily spending and have even bought myself a mobile phone (charged, working and all the mod cons that my old phone never had).

But today is sunny and pleasantly warm, so we are off on foot to watch football at the pub. Yay, more pub food.
